Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful information before you order.

Which refrigerants are available in small packages?

This collection lists R22, R410A and R404A in 1.5 lb and 5 lb packages, along with R134a in a 5 lb package. Check the individual listings for current availability. The 1.5 lb size is not listed for every refrigerant in the collection.

How do I choose between a 1.5 lb can and a 5 lb cylinder?

Choose the correct refrigerant first, then compare the purchase quantity with the amount your service work requires. A 5 lb package contains more refrigerant, but it is not automatically more suitable for a particular system. Review connection details for either package.

Will a small refrigerant can fit my existing hose or adapter?

Do not assume that all small cans and cylinders use the same connection. Compare the product’s valve and connection specifications with your service equipment. If those details are not stated, contact us about the exact product before ordering an adapter or refrigerant.

Does a smaller package change which systems the refrigerant can be used in?

No. Package size affects the quantity purchased, not refrigerant compatibility. A small R410A package is still for equipment that specifies R410A. The correct tools, service procedures and applicable purchase requirements still matter.

Is one small can enough to service an entire system?

There is no universal answer. Refrigerant requirements depend on the equipment specification and the service being performed. Have the required quantity established before buying, and do not treat the package weight as a direction to add the entire contents.

Do small refrigerant packages come with a charging hose?

Check the included-items section of the exact listing. Do not assume that a hose, adapter or gauge is supplied because the package is small. Confirm both the included accessories and their suitability for the required service before ordering.

Can I use any of these small packages for a car’s air conditioning?

No. Choose according to the vehicle’s specified refrigerant, not the container size. This collection includes refrigerants intended for different equipment applications. For R134a and R1234yf buying options, check the AutoAC collection and the vehicle label.

Where can I find a larger package of the same refrigerant?

Open the dedicated R22, R410A or R404A collection to compare the larger listed cylinders. For R134a, check the AutoAC or All Products collection. Match the exact refrigerant designation when moving from a smaller package to a larger one.
